Passing of the Crown in Junior Auxiliary Welcomes New Officers
Last night, many ladies bid farewell to the officers who served five years on Junior Auxiliary and then welcomed the new provisional class.
Tonie Marion, Community Enhancement Coordinator of Visit Oxford, said, “‘Passing the crown’ is our new year starting. Officers and members who have served their five years are leaving (and then) we introduce the new incoming provisional class.”
The Junior Auxiliary is an organization that provides opportunities for ladies to provide charitable services with an emphasis on children’s well-being in the community. Founded in 1989, the Oxford chapter of Junior Auxiliary has served for 25 years. This year, Jane Cross will lead the Oxford chapter as its new president.
Jane Cross, a clinical pharmacist and owner at HealthTransRX, said, “I am extremely honored to have the opportunity to work with the ladies of Junior Auxiliary. We have an amazing group of ladies who are constantly giving back to our community’s children in so many different ways — from education in the arts to baseball camps for elementary aged boys and just about everything in between. So much of what we do is behind the scenes, but I do want the Oxford/Lafayette community to know that we are constantly striving to better the lives of the children in our community. I am so excited about serving as our chapter’s President this year, and I feel blessed to call Oxford my home.”
