Oxford Crime Report: Monday, June 8
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: eight alarms, two lost properties, two suspicious activities, two abandoned vehicles, a malicious mischief, a disturbance, and a credit card fraud.
Oxford police investigated eight wrecks, issued 38 traffic citations, and made five arrests on the following charges: (2) speeding and DUI; a shoplifting; a noise violation with a suspended driver’s license and a failure to comply with possession of marijuana less than 30 grams; and a speeding with no driver’s license nor car insurance.
University police responded to the following incidents: three vehicle stops, two vandalism to vehicles at Big Valley Lot and Tad Smith Coliseum, a suspicious vehicle on Intramurals Field Road, a disturbance and a simple assault at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, and a grand larceny of more than $1000 at Delta Gamma house.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following incidents: a low battery alarm on the smoke detector at 4:58 a.m. at 3001 Old Taylor Road, a wreck (no entrapment) at 6:01 a.m. on Highway 6 East at 334, and a wreck (no entrapment) at 1:38 p.m. on 790 Highway 30 East.
