Moody Sidelined With Leg Injury, Expected to Recover in Time for Fall Camp
Ole Miss rising senior guard Stefan Moody will be sidelined for 8-12 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a stress fracture in his left tibia, head coach Andy Kennedy announced Monday.
The tibial stress fracture was discovered last week and he underwent immediate surgery to repair and reinforce the fracture. He is expected to make a full recovery in time for preseason camp.
“Stef suffered a tibial stress that our medical staff discovered and repaired as soon as it was diagnosed,” Kennedy said. “Although we hate that he had to go through the surgery and subsequent rehab, Stef is a very strong young man, who we expect to make a complete recovery before the start of team workouts in the fall.”
A first team All-SEC selection a year ago, Moody tied for the league lead in scoring in conference games at 18.6 ppg and was recently praised as “one of the most fun players to watch in all of college basketball,” by ESPN.com.
