Oxford Crime Report: Monday, June 1
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: four alarms, two disturbances, two noise violations, two motorist assists, two credit card frauds, a suspicious activity, a fire department assist, an ambulance assist, a malicious mischief, a petit larceny, a lost property, harassing phone calls, a simple assault, an improper parking, and a forgery.
Oxford police investigated seven wrecks, issued 26 traffic citations and made six arrests on the following charges: (2) shoplifting, minor in possession of alcohol, public intoxication, speeding with possession of drug paraphernalia, and a driving with one headlight with possession of drug paraphernalia and a DUI.
University police responded to the following incidents: a disturbance at Campus Walk, and a petit larceny at Lester Hall.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: two alerts at 12:24 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. caused by smoke detector malfunctioning outside the second floor elevator at 800 College Hill Road Building 1, and a smoke detector malfunction outside the second floor elevator at 2:05 a.m. at 800 College Hill Road Building 2, an accidental activation of fire alarm at 2:18 p.m. at 109 Carriage Cove, the stove element burned out at 6:54 p.m. at 2584 Harris Drive, and at 6:15 a.m. this morning there was a false alarm at 1404 Madison Avenue.
