Oxford Crime Report: Friday – Sunday, May 29 – May 31
The Oxford police wants to thank everyone who came out to the OPD Community Fun Day!

Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 15 alarms, 11 suspicious activities, seven disturbances, six petit larcenies, five welfare concerns, two fire department assists, two noise violations, two 911 hang up calls, two careless drivers, two auto burglaries at Highland Square and Deer run, a simple assault, a code violation, an improper parking, a motorist assist, a scam, and a lost property.
Oxford police investigated 10 wrecks, issued 37 traffic citations and made 11 arrests on the following charges: (4) shopliftings, (2) public intoxication, a warrant served, a DUI, a failure to comply with public intoxication, a careless driving with DUI, and a failure to yield with no driver’s license nor car insurance but with possession of drug paraphernalia.
University police responded to the following incidents: 22 vehicle stops, a larceny at Kincannon Hall, a traffic detail on Chucky Mullins Drive, an accidental hit and run at Turner Center, a vehicle accident with property damage at National Food Service management, and a service call for an ambulance at Manning Center.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a third floor fire alarm malfunction at 12:58 p.m. at Haven House on May 29, a smoke detector activated by shower steam at 8:49 p.m. at Northgate C101 on May 29, a smoke detector malfunction upstairs at 9:33 p.m. due to water leaking onto it at 112 Douglas Drive on May 29, a resident pulled a fire alarm at 9:04 a.m. at Oxford Health & Rehabilitation on May 31, a smoke detector malfunction at 11:39 a.m. in Chi Omega house on May 31, a smoke detector activated by cooking at 1:17 p.m. in the Village building 130 apartment 14 on May 31, and an alarm malfunction at 2:47 p.m. due to a power outage in Ventress Hall on May 31.
