Ole Miss seniors Fabia McDonald (Middletown, Ohio) and Malcolm Davis (Norcross, Ga.) have been named to the 2015 Southeastern Conference Community Service Teams for women’s and men’s track and field.

McDonald and Davis have been instrumental in volunteer efforts in the Oxford community during their college careers.

McDonald, a 2012 All-American and school record holder in the indoor pentathlon and outdoor heptathlon, has been busy off the track, as well. She is a regular participant in Walking Wednesdays, in which volunteers walk with local elementary and middle school children to their schools in the morning. She has participated in activities at a nursing home five times, volunteered with Special Olympics on two occasions and participated in Reading with the Rebels, in which Ole Miss student-athletes read books to local elementary students, as well as Reading Boost in Tupelo, Mississippi. She has participated twice in Rebel-thon, a 12-hour event that raises funds to benefit Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. She has encouraged activity and interest in sports through events like Move Mississippi and Women’s Day in Sports. She’s helped feed the hungry through the Adopt-a-Basket and First Baptist food pantry programs and has also volunteered her time with the Oxford Challenge, Humane Society, Halloween with REBELS and Trick or Truck. In the classroom, she’s a three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll student.

Davis has competed in the long jump and high jump throughout his Rebel career, ranking top 10 in school history indoors and outdoors in the high jump. Off the track, he’s been a mentor to local youth at the Boys and Girls Club and has participated in Reading with the Rebels, in which Ole Miss student-athletes read books to local elementary students. He’s assisted in tornado relief efforts and participated in Rebel-thon, a 12-hour event that raises funds to benefit Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. He has additionally volunteered with the Special Olympics, assisting in the areas of basketball and track & field, volunteered at a local high school track & field meet, and with the Oxford Challenge, Halloween with the REBELS and a Thanksgiving food drive.
