Oxford Crime Report: Monday, May 18
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: five alarms, a fire department assist, a grand larceny, harassing phone calls, a counterfeit currency, an animal complaint, a welfare concern, a simple assault, a suspicious activity, a trespassing, and a credit card fraud.
Oxford police investigated no wrecks, issued five traffic citations and made two arrests on the following charges: a possession of drug paraphernalia, and a public intoxication.
University police responded to the following incident: a vehicle stop on University Place.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a CO detector activation at 6:50 p.m. where fire department found signs of a gas leak at the water heater at 2236 Lee Loop, a gas leak at 8:41 p.m. at Natural Gas pumping station on Chucky Mullins Drive, a smoke detector activated at 12:14 a.m. by cooking at The Village building 130 – apartment 4, a smell of smoke at 4:41 a.m. by a coke machine motor smoking at Martindale Hall near room 127.
