Second Annual Cannon Motors Golf Scramble Benefit Ole Miss Club Scholarships
The Cannon Motors Two-Person Scramble is two months away, but it’s one of many things to look forward to enjoying this summer in Oxford.
The two-person golf scramble is on June 27 and June 28. The scramble is on the Ole Miss Golf Course, a perfect location since the event is the main fundraiser for the Ole Miss Club. Ole Miss Club raises funds from this scramble for two scholarships. These scholarships go to a graduating senior at both Oxford and Lafayette High School who are attending the University of Mississippi this fall.
Grant Boone, assistant vice president at Oxford-University Bank, said, “I ask that you please consider playing in this tournament. It is a great time and all proceeds go to our club’s scholarship endowment.”
He asks the interested golfers to register at olemissalumni.com. Those interested in golf hole sponsorship can register at the above website for $100.
The entry fee is $350 per team, but it’s well worth it for the prize: $2,100 paid out in each flight (first, second and third places). The Ole Miss Club is hoping for 72 teams and seven flights.
Also, there is another opportunity to win money. Each golfer will have two tickets to the Calcutta Dinner that will be at the Rafters, the new bar above the Corner Bar and The Levee. Drinks will be provided both rounds and at the dinner with lunch provided both days.
Mark the calendar y’all!
