Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, May 7
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: four suspicious activities, three noise violations, three alarms, two animal complaints, two lost properties, two disturbances, two careless drivers, a trespassing, a civil matter, a welfare concern, a petit larceny, a malicious mischief, an improper parking, and an auto-burglary at Whirlpool Drive.
Oxford police investigated eight wrecks, issued 27 traffic citations and made 12 arrests on the following charges: (6) trespassing; (5) public intoxication; and a driving with no seatbelt, a suspended driver’s license and possession of schedule II narcotics.
University police responded to the following incidents: three vehicle stops, two traffic assists, a trespassing at J.D. Williams Library, a moving violation per operating an improper equipment with DUI at University Place, a vehicle wreck on Hathorn Road, and a vehicle wreck at the Union lot.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a smoke detector activated 11:25 a.m. by a hot plate at Kappa Alpha house, a grass fire at 2:45 p.m. at Grand Oaks area, a cancelled call at 4:16 p.m. at Baptist Memorial Hospital, a smoke detector malfunction at 4:19 p.m. in a concession stand at Swayze Field, and a smoke detector malfunction at 9:01 p.m. at Brown Hall.
