Rebels Look to NFL Draft: Corner Back Senquez Golson
After looking at what talented defensive back Cody Prewitt did in a Rebel uniform and at the NFL Combine to help punch his ticket to the next level, let’s focus our attention to corner back Senquez Golson.
At Ole Miss, Golson played on the gridiron and diamond for the Rebels. On the gridiron, he played in 49 games in four season for Ole Miss, but his senior campaign was something special, with 33 solo tackles and a total of 43 tackles on the season.
The number of tackles piled up during four seasons with 96 solo and 136 total.
On the Landshark defense, Golson had a sure fire mantle to smell blood in the water and going after every ball he could get his hands on by pulling in 10 interceptions for a 162 yards. In all his time at Ole Miss, he tailed up a total of 16 interceptions, including the game-winning, last-second grab Oct. 4 against the top-ranked Crimson Tide to seal the Rebel victory.
In Indianapolis, Golson ran a 4.46 40-yard dash, with 16 reps on the bench press and his vertical jump was 33’5, which graded him out to a 5.61, showing the scouts in attendance that his strengths are as an outstanding competitor with great ball skills.
Scouts have compared Golson’s skill ability to that of NFL player Brent Grimes.
He can be looking to hear his named called in either the third or fourth round of the Draft.
On the day of the Drafrt, we look at Bo Wallace as he is preparing to hopefully continue his quarterbacking career.
