ESPN Adds Ole Miss Baseball to May 14 Schedule
The Southeastern Conference announced today, April 29, that ESPN has chosen the May 14 baseball game between Ole Miss and Texas A&M to air on national television. The series opener between the Rebels and Aggies will be broadcast live on ESPNU with first pitch still set for its original time, 6:30 p.m. CT, at Swayze Field.
The three-game set against Texas A&M is the final regular-season series for Ole Miss. With the last Thursday of the regular season designated as a wild card selection date for television, the series-opening matchup was chosen over the other six SEC games on the schedule that evening.
Ole Miss baseball on ESPNU will mark the 12th time this season the Rebels are slated to appear on national television. The Diamond Rebels have played eight of those contests thus far, sporting a record of 4-4 that includes victories over then-No. 1 LSU and then-No. 1 Vanderbilt. Ole Miss will host rival Mississippi State at Swayze Field, May 7-9, with all three games set for broadcast on SEC Network.
After handing the rival Bulldogs a 11-1 loss in the Governor’s Cup on Tuesday, Ole Miss will remain away from home, heading to Columbia, Missouri for its final SEC road series of the season. The Rebels will face the Missouri Tigers, May 1-3, at Taylor Stadium. The first game against the nationally ranked Tigers will be at 6:00 p.m. CT Friday night, May 1. The final two contests will be afternoon affairs on Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 2:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m., respectively. All three games will be broadcast on SEC Network+ and can also be heard on the airwaves of the Ole Miss Radio Network.
