Marshall Henderson Keeps a Promise, Kind Of
Sometimes things come back to haunt you.
A few years ago, Ole Miss basketball point guard, Marshall Henderson got in trouble at Ole Miss for drug use. Erin Andrews wrote a snarky tweet, a slight Henderson never forgot two years later.
Marshall was a hot-shot athlete who quickly embraced a villainous role, especially when Ole Miss Rebels overcame Florida Gators, Erin Andrew’s alma mater. Marshall may have immortalized himself in SEC college basketball history when he zipped down the basketball court doing the Gator chomp at livid fans.
His college career was short-lived but his professional career seems to go well. He went from Ole Miss to Italy and then Qatar where he is currently playing on Al Rayyan team, one of most successful basketball teams in the region. He made good with the past two years, but early this morning he came full-circle on the two-year old beef with Erin Andrews.
Here is the offending tweet:
Henderson then meant that his first tweet after a social media gag in conjunction with his suspension would be for her. But when he broke his Twitter silence nearly a year later on March 27, 2014, he tweeted a selfie picture of himself wearing a Gators shirt, saying he was on his way to Memphis to cheer on Florida Gators through Sweet Sixteen that Thursday. He seemed to have forgotten enmity with Florida Gators, but a year later he proved that he had not forgotten Erin Andrews.
Last night Erin Andrew’s boyfriend, Jarret Stoll, Los Angeles Kings forward, was arrested on suspicion of drug possession in Las Vegas last Friday. On Sunday morning at 1:39 a.m. here, around eight in the morning for Marshall in Qatar, he served the ice cold dish.
