10s of Oxford: Women Who Pursue Their Passion
Every week HottyToddy.com recognizes individualistic women who stand out in their service, career or volunteering. This week’s 10s of Oxford have marched to the beat of their drum, and we applaud them.
Termisha Toles
Termisha Toles is a hobby jewel artist since she was 11 years old. Her crafts are called Jewelz by Misha, and her talent is popular with many.
“I have caught myself being in Walmart or church, and people would ask me about the jewelry I’m wearing, which happens to be my handmade jewelry, and I’ve sold pieces off me,” Toles said here.
Cindy Hyde-Smith
Cindy Hyde Smith has always loved being outdoors growing up, a connection that eventually led her to becoming the first female Mississippi’s Agriculture Commissioner in 2012.
“And I felt this peace settle over me, as though straight from God, that this was what I needed to be doing,” Hyde-Smith said to Angela Rogalski, “because my true prayer has always been to be in the center of God’s will.”
Donna Howard
Two years ago Donna Howard opened Holding Hands, a thrift store that employs people with disabilities so they too can find enjoyment in their work. She has been thankful for the overwhelming charity Oxonians have shown the store, and hopes to expand the store.
