Regions Bank Grove Bowl Week is Here
Ole Miss Athletics is looking forward to a big weekend, headlined by the Regions Bank Grove Bowl that kicks off at noon CT on Saturday and is free to the public. Ole Miss Softball hosts Georgia for a weekend series, while women’s tennis is also in action against Mississippi State on campus.
The 26th annual Chucky Mullins Courage Award ceremony, presented by the M-Club, will be held Saturday morning before the spring football game. Beginning at 8 a.m., the breakfast ceremony held at the Grill at 1810 inside the Manning Center will culminate with the unveiling of this year’s winner who will wear Mullins’ No. 38 jersey in 2015. A limited number of tickets remain online or calling 888-REB-TKTS.
Softball kicks off the weekend when the Rebels host the Bulldogs on Friday at 6 p.m. The other two games in the three-game set are slated for Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. Women’s tennis hosts Mississippi State on Saturday, starting with doubles at 1 p.m.
The Regions Bank Grove Bowl, which supports the M-Club’s J.W. “Wobble” Davidson Scholarship Fund, features Hugh Freeze’s Rebels in action at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in the culmination of spring football drills.
Pregame presentations will begin around 11:45 a.m., and live coverage on SEC Network + and WatchESPN apps will start at noon. The SEC Network Alternate channel will feature an SEC Spring Football Whip-Around that will visit spring games at Ole Miss, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
There is no reserved parking for the Regions Bank Grove Bowl. Fans are encouraged to park in lots to the northeast or south side of the stadium, as construction will prohibit entrance from the west side.
Beginning at 11 a.m., fans can enter the stadium through gates 13-16 or the south endzone service gate. The west stands will be closed off to the public due to construction. While admission is free, please be mindful of prohibited items, including coolers.
ADA parking is in the South Lot. Shuttles to Vaught-Hemingway will begin at 10:30 a.m.
The M-Club’s J.W. “Wobble” Davidson Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to the children of former Ole Miss letterwinners.
Davidson, a three-sport star at Ole Miss and assistant football coach for 22 seasons under John Vaught, died in 1998 at the age 79. As an assistant in 1945-68, he helped coach the Rebels to 16 bowl games and six Southeastern Conference championships. He also spent 11 years as head men’s tennis coach and was adviser to the M-Club for 23 years.
The M-Club Alumni Chapter is an honor organization for men and women who have earned a varsity letter in an NCAA-sanctioned sport sponsored at Ole Miss and have participated in a formal induction ceremony. Visit their website for more information.
