Oxford Crime Report: Wednesday, March 25
Oxford police responded to the following incidents:seven suspicious activities, four alarms, three welfare concerns, two petit larcenies, two disturbances, two careless drivers, a civil matter, a lost property, a fire department assist, an animal complaint, an improper parking, a 911 hang up call, a lost properties, and a harassment.
Oxford police investigated eight wrecks, issued 51 traffic stops and made five arrests on the following charges: a public intoxication; a careless driver with no car insurance but with possession of drug paraphernalia and a DUI; a minor in possession of alcohol; a possession of drug paraphernalia; and a driving with one headlight and no driver’s license nor car insurance but with possession of schedule I and IV narcotics and a DUI.
University police responded to the following incidents:five vehicle stops, a grass fire on Fraternity Row, an accidental vehicle wreck at University Place, and a suspicious vehicle in the South Lot.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following incident: a small grass fire on the intersection of W. Jackson Avenue and Fraternity Row that went out before the firemen arrived.
