Ole Miss Opens SEC Slate at Home with No. 1 Florida
The Ole Miss Rebel baseball team opens up Southeastern Conference play this weekend at home against No. 1 Florida.
Ole Miss (11-10) enters the weekend after picking up a come-from-behind win over Arkansas Pine Bluff 7-6. The Rebels scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth, all off the bat of freshman Tate Blackman.
Florida rolls into Oxford with a 19-3 record on the season after defeating in-state rival Florida State, 14-8, on Tuesday. The Gators began SEC play by taking two out of three against Tennessee, falling in the opener before claiming the series with wins in the final two games.
Junior Harrison Bader leads Florida at the plate hitting .419 with 27 RBIs and seven home runs on the year.
The probable pitching matchups for the weekend series are as follows: the Gators will send Logan Shore and A.J. Puk to the mound, and they’ll oppose the Rebels’ Christian Trent and Brady Bramlett. Sunday’s starters have yet to be announced.
In the last series between Ole Miss and Florida, the Gators took the series 2-1, but the Rebels lead the all-time record 46-40.
The first two games of this series will be broadcast on SEC Network+, while the series finale on Sunday will be on ESPNU. Game times are set for 6:30 p.m. Friday and 1:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
