Ole Miss Phi Mu Pancake Philanthropy Helps Children’s Miracle Network
National Pancake Day is Tuesday, March 3, and in celebration, IHOP will be hosting free pancakes in support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals for their 10th Anniversary.
Children’s Miracle Network has raised more than $5 billion for 170 children’s hospitals across the United States for the past 32 years. Their donations support research, training, payment of uncompensated care and purchasing of equipment.
Every year, the Oxford community becomes involved with IHOP’s National Pancake Day. Phi Mu’s Alpha Delta chapter at Ole Miss supports each year.
“Phi Mu each year is able to volunteer at IHOP in support of National Pancake Day,” The day’s proceeds go towards Children’s Miracle Network which is also Phi Mu’s philanthropy making this event very close to the heart of the sorority,” Hayley Cheatham, Phi Mu philanthropy chairman for 2014, said.
The Alpha Delta chapter supports LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis and raised close to $20,000 through their philanthropy events in 2014.
“Phi Mu members enjoy working IHOP National Pancake Day every year. Girls volunteer their time all day to help raise money for CMN,” Phi Mu president Alex Arnold said. “It is heartwarming to know that so many people come out to help these children, and Phi Mu is fortunate and thankful to be a part of this day.”
IHOP’s goal this year is to raise $3.5 million for Children Miracle Network Hospitals through donations at the events.
