Now that we’re two thirds into the SEC schedule the projections for the tournament in Nashville are becoming clearer and clearer.

Following the one point loss to Arkansas Saturday night, the Rebels are in a dog fight with three other teams: Texas A&M; Georgia; and LSU for the remaining two seeds in the conference tournament.

And it is probable that the four seeds will also be headed to the NCAA.

Kentucky and Arkansas are now the #1 and #2 seeds respectively and are deserving of their national status. Looking at the remaining six game schedules for the 4 teams mentioned above, here’s how it shakes out:

You can see how close this now is with no margin for error. The Rebs face a must-win versus State Thursday night in Starkville which will not be easy. The best thing going for the Rebs, however, is the fact they are done with Kentucky, Arkansas and Florida having gone 3-2 versus these difficult clubs.

Playing Georgia at home will be an advantage and if we should upset LSU in Baton Rouge, this would be a bonus win!

The best thing about the Arkansas home loss was we finally have gotten everyone to show up and support this team. And they were vocal from start to finish. If this support continues, the
remaining three home games will all be “W’s.” Let’s hope this is the case.
