Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, February 12
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: four careless drivings, four suspicious activities, a lost property, a noise complaint, a counterfeit currency, a shoplifting, an alarm, a petit larceny and an auto-burglary at 200 University Street.
Oxford police investigated nine wrecks, issued 49 traffic citations and made 11 arrests on the following charges: (4) minor in possession of alcohol; (4) public intoxication; a possession of drug paraphernalia; a warrant served; and a careless driving with running a red light, not wearing a seatbelt and having no driver’s license but has a DUI.
University police responded to the following incidents: a possession of drug paraphernalia and a public drunk at Kappa Sigma house, and a service call for an ambulance at Pittman Hall.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following incidents: a smoke detector activated by grease left on hot stove which resulted in a smoke-filled apartment at Northgate 204C, a cancelled call at Oxford Health & Rehabilitation, a smoke detector malfunction on first floor at Barnard Hall, and a smoke detector malfunction at Natural Products 209A.
