Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Presents $1,000 to OHS for 2014 Gridiron Classic Contest
Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi presented the Text to Win $1,000 check to Oxford High School (OHS) during the February 6 home basketball game against New Hope.
OHS won the 2014 Gridiron Classic Text to Win contest, which gave Charger fans another way to support their team by texting a special code during the days leading up to the state championship football game. The Text to Win money will benefit the school’s physical education program.
“Anytime money is donated to our schools, there is always somewhere to put it,” said Oxford School District Superintendent Brian Harvey. “That’s especially true when it’s $1,000 that’s not in your budget. It gives us a chance to do some of the extra special things as a school district that you have plans for but no way to fund them. We certainly appreciate Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi for sponsoring this contest. It’s our second year to win, and we’ve been able to greatly enhance our high school’s physical education department both years.”
