This week the Living Music Resource™ at University of Mississippi is hosting great events starting tonight.

This afternoon there will be a discussion with Grammy and Pulitzer Prize winning composer William Bolcom and acclaimed mezzo Joan Morris at the Ford Center’s studio theater. The hour-long discussion begins at one and will be hosted by Nancy Maria Balach. The focus of the conversation is on the art of collaboration between singers and composers and poets and all involved with musical creations.

Composer Price Walden’s new piece “to a stranger” will be premiered by members of the University of Mississippi concert singers. Bolcom and Morris will work with these members during the live steam to demonstrate collaboration.

The event is free. For those who are unable to be at the Ford Center can watch the discussion and the premiere on the website by clicking on the link in the home slider.

Later this evening the winsome duo Bolcom and Morris will work with University of Mississippi singers and instrumentalists on selections by Bolcom and from the “American Songbook.” The event, “Between the Bar Lines” begins at 8 p.m. at the Nutt Auditorium. It is free and open to public.
