The Ole Miss Rebels picked up their first win in Mizzou Arena Sunday night with a 67-47 victory over the Tigers, a first since Missouri joined the Southeastern Conference.
The Rebels intensity on both ends of the the court helped the team improve to 14-7 and 5-3 in conference play with three straight conference wins in a row including Florida and in-state rival Mississippi State.
As a team, the Rebels gave the Tigers difficulty with the number of good defensive looks each time down the court.
Junior Stefan Moody led Ole Miss in scoring with 23 points and contributed five rebounds, two assists and a steal in the 20-point win. Moody also was a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line.
Coach Andy Kennedy’s squad continues to be dominant from the free-throw stripe shooting 87 percent on the night. The Rebels shot 44 percent from the field and pulled in 43 rebounds.
Ole Miss will return to action on Wednesday as they welcome the Texas A&M Aggies (15-5, 6-2 SEC) into the Tad Pad. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. on SEC Network.
