Ole Miss CIE to Host Innovation Boot Camp on Friday
The University of Mississippi Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is hosting an Innovation Boot Camp on Friday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Conner Hall, Room 112. The event will culminate in a pitch competition that begins at 4:30 with a $300 prize for the first place winner and $150 to second place. Participation in Boot Camp is not necessary for the pitch competition.
The boot camp as well as the pitch competition are open to any undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at Ole Miss. It will provide students with tips on starting a business from experts in the industry and entrepreneurial faculty.
“There’s a lot more enthusiasm and excitement when there’s more students there,” said Dr. Rich Gentry, CIE Director. “We want more students to see this as a viable career and an interesting career choice.”
In addition to the experience and prize the event offers a springboard toward the Gillespie Business Plan Competition taking place next month. The GBPC allows aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to organize and sell their business plan to a panel of judges.
