Wine Bar Teaches Whiskey Appreciation, Antique Bourbons
The Wine Bar has a wine tasting class and also a whiskey tasting class since the Wine Bar has over 50 whiskeys. Tonight, the Wine Bar will have the Whiskey 101 class from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The class will focus on antique bourbons and how to pair food with them. Students will eat small plates appropriately paired with the flights while they learn information on how each product is made as well as learning flavor accents.
These dishes are “man food” inspired. The dishes are ham and cream cheese crostinis with black-eyed pea-pepper jelly and chili con queso dip with homemade chips. Chocolate fudge cake will be the dessert. The three-course meal costs $45, including antique bourbon tasting.
Erika Lipe, the general manager at the Wine Bar said, “It is a very fun and informative way to branch out and try something new about the art of wine-making and distilling.”
Also tonight the Wine Bar will be doing a “Gastropub Night,” a new weekly event that will occur every Wednesday. These nights will feature a different, chef-inspired and hand-ground burger with two draft beers for $15. That sounds like a great way to fill up before going to the basketball game against Mississippi State Bulldogs!
To reserve a spot, call 662-238-3500. For those who’ll be going to the basketball game tonight can bring by their ticket stubs later to get $2 off food items at the Wine Bar.
