Oxford Crime Report: Tuesday, January 27
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: six alarms, four suspicious activities, two harassing phone calls, two welfare concerns, two ambulance assists, two civil matters, a code violation, a noise complaint, a grand larceny, a motorist assist, a lost property, a disturbance, a 911 hang up call, and a malicious mischief.
Oxford police investigated seven wrecks, issued 67 traffic citations and made four arrests on the following charges: a possession of drug paraphernalia; a possession of drug paraphernalia with a suspended driver’s license; an improper passing with a seatbelt violation and no driver’s license; a seatbelt violation with no car insurance and a possession of drug paraphernalia.
University police responded to the following incidents:Â harassment at Minor Hall, a first-offense credit card fraud off-campus, an accidental hit and run at University Place, and an accidental hit and run at Martin Hall.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a smoke alarm activated by burned food in microwave on first floor surgery area at Baptist Memorial Hospital, and a small gas spill cleanup needed at the Kangaroo station on Highway 6 West.
