Chancellor Dan Jones Pens Update to Ole Miss Family
Chancellor Dan Jones is fighting the good fight against lymphoma. He wrote an encouraging letter to the University of Mississippi folks.
To the Ole Miss family,Thank you for your many expressions of support and prayers. Though there are still some uncertainties ahead of us, the results of the treatment for the lymphoma have exceeded expectations. We are a little more than halfway through the chemotherapy treatments with anticipation of a full recovery. My strength is improving rapidly. Just a couple of weeks ago, walking 200 yards was a real challenge. Over the last several days, I’ve taken walks of more than a mile closer to my usual pace.
I’m in regular contact with other university leaders, staying involved with major issues. Your university continues to thrive because of the strong, talented and committed leadership team.
I hope to see some of you in a few weeks on campus or at an Ole Miss basketball or baseball game.
