Oxonians Enjoy Hidden Treasures, Charity Donations at Indoor Yard Sale
The weather was unusually warm and sunny today but that did not deter Oxonians from enjoying the Indoor Yard Sale today. There were numerous vendors selling furniture, vinyls and vintage clothing all for cash-only sales.
There was one vendor that was not a person clearing out his or her storage – 9 Lives Cat Rescue. (link: http://www.9livescatrescue.org/) The local all-volunteer no-kill cat rescue organization has serviced Lafayette County since 2006. Today it participated in the Indoor Yard Sale, selling donated items such as lamps, jewelry and books to raise funds for feline care for its rescued cats as well as its humane feral program which they trap, neuter and release feral cats to prevent stray overpopulation. Their rescued cats can be seen at the PetsMart in Oxford.
In this video Carol from 9 Lives Cat Rescue explains her organization amid the bustle of the Indoor Yard Sale.
The rest of the vendors were the definition of the saying: “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” The items for sale were impressive for those who love vintage, yours truly included. This reporter bought a floral lamp from 9 Lives Cat Rescue for only $15 cash!
If y’all didn’t come to the Indoor Yard Sale this is what y’all missed out on:
Hope to see y’all next year for the seventh annual Indoor Yard Sale!
