Oxford Crime Report: Wednesday, January 14
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: three suspicious activities, three disturbances, three petit larcenies, two noise complaints, two alarms, two 911 hang up calls, a littering, a fire department assist, a motorist assist, a scam, a careless driving, and a welfare concern.
Oxford police investigated three wrecks, issued 72 traffic citations, and made eight arrests on the following charges: (2) minors in possession of alcohol, a simple assault, a running a stop sign with a DUI, a careless driving with a DUI, a speeding with a suspended driver’s license, a driving with suspended driver’s license and no car insurance, and a speeding with no driver’s license nor car insurance.
University police responded to the following incidents: a petit larceny at Turner Center, and a report of a suspicious person at Whirlpool Trail.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a smoke detector activated by cooking at The Village building 108, and a heat detector malfunction in the basement at FINS.
