Lady Rebs Host No. 18 Georgia Bulldogs in Tad Pad
The Ole Miss lady Rebels return to the confines of Tad Smith Coliseum as they host the No. 18 Georgia Bulldogs with a 6 p.m. tipoff on SECN+.
Ole Miss (13-4, 3-1 SEC) is coming off of a huge 77-63 victory over Alabama on the road Sunday. Gracie Frizzell was on fire from beyond the three-point stripe, hitting 8-of-12 in the game to set a new single-game record.
Senior Tia Faleru has extended her double-figure scoring streak to eight straight games with 19 points against the Crimson Tide.
Coach Matt Insell’s squad picked up its third SEC win over the weekend, which is the most since the 2009-10 season when the Rebels went 7-5 against conference foes.
Georgia comes into town with a 3-1 conference mark and 15-2 overall record after defeating Auburn 57-52 on the road. The Bulldogs opened the season on a 12-game win streak before losing back-to-back against Seton Hall and Mississippi State.
Georgia is led by Shacobia Barbee and Tiaria Griffin with 12.5 and 12.1 points per game respectively. As a team, the Bulldogs are averaging 65.5 points while being able to hold opponents to just 50.4 points per game.
Thursday’s night matchup will be the 43rd meeting between the two schools, with Georgia holding a commanding 31-11 advantage and taking the last five games. If the Rebel come away with a win, it will be Ole Miss’ first win over an AP-ranked team since the 2010-11 season.
The Rebels will hit the road and travel to College Station, Texas, to take on the No. 11/12 Texas A&M Aggies over the weekend, televised on the SEC Network at 4 p.m.
