Oxford Crime Report: Wednesday, January 7
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: seven suspicious activities, seven alarms, three house burglaries on Pleasant Drive, two animal complaints, two fire department assists, a public intoxication, a simple assault, an ambulance assist, a petit larceny, a disturbance, an 911 hang up call, a civil matter, a shoplifting, a code violation, a malicious mischief, and a careless driver.
Oxford police investigated six wrecks, issued 27 traffic citations, and made two arrests on the following charges: a possession of drug paraphernalia, and a driving with suspended driver’s license, no car insurance and also a DUI.
University police responded to the following incidents: a vehicle stop on Rebel Drive, a vehicle stop on Poole Drive, a vehicle stop at University Place, a vehicle stop on Intramural Field Road, and a vehicle stop at Indoor Practice Facility.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a neighbor reported smoke alarm activation but no smoke was visible at 800 Yorkshire Court, and a vehicle assistance call for a blue semi-truck pulled off to the side of the road and leaking diesel fuel which the fire department cleaned and re-fueled at Highway 6 – Highway 7.
