Ole Miss Closes Out Non-Con Against Austin Peay
The Ole Miss Rebels look to close-out their non-conference home stand against Austin Peay Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
Ole Miss is 8-4 on the season after dropping its last outing to the Dayton Flyers by the score of 78-74. The Rebels were led in scoring by senior Jarvis Summers, who had 20 points in the game.
As a team, the Rebels lead the nation in free throw percentage, hitting 78.5 percent of its attempts. The Rebels have hit 52 of their last 62 (.839) attempts from the line. Junior G Stefan Moody is tied for the lead in the SEC and tied for ninth in the nation, shooting 91.8 percent from the stripe.Austin Peay is 5-8 on the season after picking up a 65-60 win over North Florida on New Year’s Eve. The Governors are 4-1 at home but 0-6 on the road this season as Austin Peay looks to junior Chris Horton in the scoring department averaging 12.1 ppg and 10.1 rpg.
Saturday will be the fourth meeting between these two squads with the Rebels winning the past three games. The last time they met was in 2002, where Ole Miss won 74-46.
The Rebels will open up conference play on Tuesday night up in Lexington against Kentucky. Fans can listen to the game against the Governors on the Ole Miss radio network.
