Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, Jan. 1
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 11 alarms, six suspicious activities, five disturbances, four malicious mischief, three animal complaints, three noise complaints, two petit larcenies, harassing phone calls, welfare concerns, a fire dept. assist, a code violation, an ambulance assist, a recovered property, a fraud and a misdialed 911 call.
Oxford police investigated six wrecks, issued 71 traffic citations and made 10 arrests on the following charges: (2) careless drivers with DUI, a warrant served, a domestic violence, a speeding with DUI, a speeding with possession of drug paraphernalia, a speeding with suspended driver’s license, a speeding with two minors in possession of alcohol, a careless driving with no driver’s license but with a DUI, a careless driving with a seatbelt violation and a DUI, and driving with one headlight, switched car tag and a suspended driver’s license and also giving false information to law enforcement.
University police had no incidents to report to on campus.
Oxford Fire Department is currently enjoying a holiday but is still on-call for emergencies.
