Oxford Crime Report: Monday, Dec. 29
Lakesha Wright – Shoplifting
On Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, Oxford police officers arrested Lakesha Wright, 24 years old of Calhoun City. This was a result of Loss Prevention from Walmart calling and advising the OPD she was in custody after she tried to leave the building without paying for her items. Bond was set at $2,500.00.
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: seven alarms, three suspicious activities, two welfare concerns, a disturbance, a malicious mischief, an animal assist, a simple assault, a civil matter, and a fraud.
Oxford police investigated four wrecks, issued six traffic citations, and made one arrest for the following charge: a speeding with possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle.
University police had no incidents occur on campus yesterday.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following call: a reported smell of gas but nothing was found at 803 Pecan Cove.
