Oxford Crime Report: Friday – Sunday, Dec. 19 – 21
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 13 suspicious activities, 12 alarms, nine disturbances, seven welfare concerns, six noise complaints, two petit larcenies, two fire dept. assists, two malicious mischief, two mis-dialed 911 calls, a recovered property, a motorist assist, a shoplifting, an animal complaint, a forgery, an ambulance assist and a trespassing.
Oxford police investigated nine wrecks, issued 53 traffic citations, and made 13 arrests on the following charges: (2) public intoxications, (2) careless driving with DUI, (2) suspended driver’s license with a DUI, a simple assault, a DUI, a suspended driver’s license with no car tag, a running a stop sign with a DUI, a speeding with one headlight and a DUI, a driving the wrong way on an one-way street with DUI, and a warrant served.
University police responded to the following incidents: a service call for an ambulance at Campus Walk, a discovered vandalism during a building check at the Oxford – University stadium (at Swayze Field), and a service call for a suspicious person at The Inn at Ole Miss.
Oxford Fire Dept. responded to the following calls: a report of a strange smell in the kitchen but the fire dept. found nothing at 4308 Mockingbird Road, a small grass fire at Highway 6 near Waller Funeral Home, and an unfounded call of a car leaking gas at Double Quick.
