Zlonda Sexton – Uttering Forgery
On Thursday December 11th, the Oxford police dept. arrested and charged Zlonda June Sexton, 37 years old of Coffeeville, MS, with uttering forgery. Officers took a report of a forgery that occurred. Upon further investigation they discovered that Zlonda June Sexton was involved. Once Sexton was located she was arrested and charged with uttering forgery (97-21-59) and given a bond of $2,500.
Jamel Burrell-Karriem – Burglary
On Thursday December 11th, the Oxford police dept. arrested and charged Jamel Burrell – Karriem, 24 years old of Starkville, MS, with burglary – breaking and entering dwelling house or inner door of dwelling. On Monday, July 28th, officers responded to a burglary that already occurred. Upon speaking to witnesses they discovered that Jamel Burrell – Karriem was involved. Once Burrell – Karriem was located he was arrested and charged with Burglary – Breaking and Entering Dwelling House or Inner Door of Dwelling (97-17-23) and given a bond of $2,500.
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 11 disturbances, eight noise complaints, five alarms, four welfare concerns, four suspicious activities, four malicious mischief, three animal assists, two 911 hang up calls, two improper parking, a littering, a careless driving, a shoplifting, a petit larceny, and a fraud.
Oxford police investigated 12 wrecks, issued 95 traffic citations, and made 15 arrests on the following charges: (3) public intoxication, (2) speeding and DUI, no car tag and DUI, running a red light and DUI, a DUI (per wreck sans injuries), a minor in possession of alcohol, a careless driver with no car tag and a DUI, a careless driver speeding with a DUI, a running a stop sign with a suspended driver’s license, an one headlight with suspended driver’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia, an one headlight with suspended driver’s license and an expired tag, and an one headlight with no car insurance, possession of drug paraphernalia and a possession of schedule IV narcotics.
University police responded to the following incidents: a domestic violence via aggravated assault at Campus Walk, a vandalism per an intoxicated person in possession of drug paraphernalia at Beta Theta Pi house, a vandalism to vehicle at Crosby Hall, a vandalism at Crosby Hall, a petit larceny at Crosby Hall, and a lost property and harassment at Crosby Hall.
Oxford Fire Dept. responded to the following calls: a cancelled call at Winchester, a wreck call on Country Road 204 but the person was able to get out of the vehicle before rescue arrived, a call for people stuck in an elevator at Turnberry building J, and a cancelled call for a rescue from wreck at Highway 6 East near Denmark.
