Rebels, Bulldogs Prepare for 87th Egg Bowl in Oxford

Published

on

This weekend, the Ole Miss Rebels will host in-state rival Mississippi State for 87th meeting of the battle for the Golden Egg.
Last season, the Bulldogs upset the Rebels in Starkville 17-10.
This season the No. 4 Bulldogs are rolling into Oxford with the record of 10-1 with quarterback Dak Prescott leading the SEC and ranked fifth in the nation, accounting for 216 points rushing and passing. Across from Prescott, running back Josh Robinson has pounded his way into the end zone for 12 touchdowns on the season.
Mississippi State’s defense is top in the nation in red zone defense. The Bulldogs can still win the SEC West by defeating the Rebels and if Auburn beats Alabama in the Iron Bowl.
Coach Hugh Freeze’s squad was shut out by Arkansas in Fayetteville due to six turnovers in the game.
On Monday, coach Freeze and sixth year linebacker Deterrian Shackelford met with the media about the upcoming matchup.
