Oxford, Lafayette High Schools Listed Among Best Mississippi Public Schools

Oxford gives families tons of reasons to live in God’s Country, and housing two of the top school districts in Mississippi is definitely a perk.
Niche.com is an online resource for people looking to find the best schools (K-12) and colleges in the United States. Along with educational rankings, Niche also provides statistics on every neighborhood and city in the U.S. offering people who are looking for a certain criteria for their living and academic needs information that’s essential when it comes to making the best decision.
Niche released Best Public High Schools in Mississippi for 2015, including both Oxford and Lafayette High Schools among the Top 40.
10310621_668458526534563_6928715109103003863_nOxford High School ranked No. 11 on the list of 100 schools, and principal Mike Martin said he was proud and honored by the recognition.
“I’m very proud that Oxford High School was chosen in the Niche Rankings as the 11th best high school in the state,” Martin said. “The community, administration, teachers and students are all hard workers and I’m very proud that they were recognized in this way.”
Lafayette High School ranked No. 35 on the list, and principal Patrick Robinson was pleased and honored by the acknowledgement and gave credit to the teachers and students of Lafayette High School.

Our students do a great job in meeting the challenges that our teachers put before them and this is very exciting to hear.”
According to Niche’s website, Best Public High Schools ranks 14,431 high schools based on dozens of key statistics and 4.6 million opinions from 280,000 students and parents. A high ranking indicates that the school is an exceptional academic institution with a diverse set of high-achieving students who rate their experience very highly.
