As college football heads into Week 14 of the 2014 season, the Arkansas Razorbacks continued their domination over ranked SEC West teams, being the first unranked team ever to shut out two ranked opponents in back-to-back games.
After the loss, the Rebels dropped 10 spots to No. 18 in the AP Polls. Florida State jumped Alabama for No. 1, the Crimson Tide fell to No. 2, Oregon follows at No. 3 and Mississippi State is No. 4.
Ole Miss came into Fayetteville with an opportunity to reach a 10-2 season and possibly — if they got help — a chance to play for the SEC Championship, but the Rebels had a tough time with getting past six turnovers in rainy conditions.
Coach Hugh Freeze’s squad had quarterback Bo Wallace go down with an apparent ankle injury, but he returned to the game and was the main quarterback on almost every snap.
Arkansas was able to run the ball through the Landshark defense, and some play action pass got them on the board from the beginning of the day.
Around the SEC, the Missouri Tigers went into Tennessee and took care of business and now are one victory away from back-to-back appearances in the SEC championship in Atlanta.
Mississippi State hit the field against Vanderbilt looking like they belong in the playoff picture with a 51-0 shutout at home, preparing to visit Oxford next weekend for the Egg Bowl.
