OHS Opens New Gym with Basketball Blowout

Oxford School District opened its new high school this year, and the boys’ basketball team opened the gymnasium right with a massive win over Houston in front of the entire student body Thursday.
The Chargers thumped the non-conference Hilltoppers 85-59 in a 2:30 tip Thursday, with sophomore Jarkel Joiner racking up 29 points and two steals in the win. Senior Josh Gibbs was on fire from the perimeter with 15, and seniors David Dennis and Shelby Mcewen each contributed 10.
Students and faculty packed the Chargers’ third home game of the season and helped cheer the boys onto a 26-point win.
