Oxford Daily Crime Report: Thursday, Nov. 13
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 14 alarms, 10 traffic assists, eight disturbances, four suspicious persons, three parking complaints, two harassment, two animal complaints, two fire assists, a welfare concern, a lost property, a larceny and a simple assault.
Oxford police investigated six wrecks (no injuries), issued 29 citations, and made seven arrests on the following charges: a DUI to first degree with careless driving, a minor in possession with possession of drug paraphernalia while driving with no headlights on, a public drunk in possession of schedule II drug, a minor in possession with failure to comply with an officer, a speeding with possession of marijuana and an out-of-jurisdiction warrant served, a DUI to second degree with possession of drug paraphernalia, and a public drunk.
Oxford police discovered two code enforcement complaints per city’s neighborhood ordinance.
University police responded to the following incidents: a driver who ran a stop sign at Hawthorne Road, a motor vehicle accident at Kincannon Lot, and a motor vehicle accident at the Union lot.
Oxford fire dept. responded to the following calls: a smoke detector activated by workers on 8th floor at Crosby Hall, a smoke detector activated by shower steam at Northgate B106, an assistance call to check on a heater in the car wash at Kangaroo Shell on Highway 6, water leaked on all three buildings at Shoe Dept., Radio Shack and One Main Financial, and the stove element burned out at Lafayette Court Apt. 5.
