The College Football Playoff committee released on Tuesday the third Top 25 poll for the first year of the four team playoff.
Since the first poll was released two weeks ago, the nation has been in suspense, playing a never-ending guessing game at work with co-workers about which team will end up where.
Ole Miss was listed back into the Top 10 this week after a 48-0 win over FCS opponent Presbyterian to close out the remainder of the Rebels non-conference games.
In the first poll, the 12-member committee had the Rebels at No. 4 after a 3-point loss to the LSU Tigers in Death Valley. Later that week, coach Hugh Freeze’s squad feel at home to the No. 3 Auburn Tigers by a 4-point margin.
Ole Miss enters the bye week with a record of 8-2 and is the highest ranked team by the playoff committee with two losses on the regular season.
The committee put Mississippi State at No. 1 for the third straight week, followed by Oregon who jumped the undefeated Florida State Seminoles after a huge win at Utah. TCU sits at No. four, followed by Alabama, Arizona State, Baylor, Ohio State, Auburn andOle Miss rounding out the Top 10.
