Cody Prewitt Stable Anchor in Landshark Defense

The Ole Miss Landshark defensive secondary has been anchored by senior Cody Prewitt, who in the last two seasons has been a force going toward the ball with no other goal than to take it away.
_BC_1808Prewitt has played in every game since stepping onto campus in 2011. As a freshman, he revived four starts at strong safety. He got a total of 32 stops on the season, with 18 solo tackles and 14 assists. Also in his first year, Prewitt snagged one interception.
In his sophomore campagin, Prewitt recorded a total of 80 tackles on the season, 44 of them were solo and 36 on assisting Landshark teammates. Two more interceptions added to his career total.
As a junior, Prewitt continued his domination in the backfield of the Rebel defense, making 71 tackles on the season with a staggering six interceptions and 52 rushing yards for a return.
Through 10 games so far in his senior season, Prewitt has been a true staple for the Rebels with 37 solo tackles and 13 assists with two interceptions for 98 yards.
In a Rebel uniform, Prewitt has complied a total of 233 tackles in his career and 11 interceptions. With the next two regular season games look bright for him with his obvious love for and dedication to the game and Rebel nation.
Prewitt came to Ole Miss from Bay Springs, where he played at Sylva Bay Academy in high school. In high school, Prewitt was named a PrepStar All-American selection and Super Prep All-Region pick with the Clarion Ledger’s selection to the Dandy Dozen.
