Tad Pad Houses Men's, Women's Basketball Action Tonight
Ole Miss Rebels hoops is fast approaching for both the men’s and women’s squads, and tonight they both will be in preseason warm-up action as the women host Christian Brothers University and men host Delta State in exhibition play. Coach Matt Insell team will get things kicked off with tip off slated for 5 p.m. in Tad Smith Coliseum and the men will follow at 7.
Both coaches in Andy Kennedy and Insell have to replace key components from last season teams with Marshall Henderson and Valenica McFarland both graduating.
Coach Insell has senior Tia Faleru returning to the squad, who is only 41 points away from the 1,000-point milestone, as well as junior Gracie Frizzell to lead the team.
The Rebels will look this season to Jarvis Summers and Aaron Jones to lead the team along with play from Martavious Newby, Sebastian Saiz, LaDarius (Snoop) White and Anthony Perez back to wear the red and blue on the court this season.
This evening’s match-ups with Christian Brothers and Delta State is a good way for both teams to get back on the court and prepare for the seasons ahead. This will be the first time that Ole Miss and Delta State have meet on the hardwood since 1942, when Delta State defeated the Rebels 42-36.
Kennedy and Insell look to use these games as a great way to play a lot of players a lot of minutes before going into the start of the regular season next weekend.
The men’s game tonight will be carried on the SEC Network+ at 7 p.m. Be sure to come out and support both teams tonight in the Tad Pad!
