One of the most talented running backs in Ole Miss history, Dexter McCluster.

HottyToddy.com contributor Steve Vassallo comments: “I was back in my hometown of Nashville recently and caught up with Dexter McCluster who in many of our minds is still running circles around the Vols. Dexter was “a great Ole Miss Rebel” and will always be. One of the finest young men you will ever be around!”
HottyToddy.com — Dexter, do you miss Oxford?
Dexter McCluster — I definitely miss Oxford. I enjoy seeing the coaches and players.
HottyToddy.com — What did you enjoy most about playing for Ole Miss?
Dexter McCluster —The fans! There is nothing like it anywhere. The Grove, the Walk of Champions all make you feel special. A wonderful and great experience!
HottyToddy.com — What’s the biggest difference between the NFL and college?

Dexter McCluster — The speed of the game. Everyone here is fast! (Dexter joined the Tennessee Titans this season after playing with the Kansas City Chiefs.)
HottyToddy.com— What are your plans once your football career ends?
Dexter McCluster — I would like to become a television or radio commentator as my major at Ole Miss was Journalism.
HottyToddy.com — We understand you will be returning to Oxford this week (The Titans are off) for the Auburn game. Will you be motivating our players?
Dexter McCluster — I plan to talk with Coach Freeze to see if this is possible. I have a good message!
HottyToddy.com — Was the Tennessee game (in Oxford) your biggest thrill?
Dexter McCluster — Yes! It was a major highlight and was the primary reason that I was drafted so high.
HottyToddy.com — How do you enjoy playing with Michael Oher?

Dexter McCluster — It’s great! We played together for three years at Ole Miss. It’s fun again.
HottyToddy.com — Do you have an NFL nickname?
Dexter McCluster — Same as college. “RDMC”……Run Dexter McCluster!
HottyToddy.com — How do you like Nashville?
Dexter McCluster — I love it! Overall it’s been very good.
HottyToddy.com — How well did your career at Ole Miss prepare you for the NFL?
Dexter McCluster — It definitely prepared me! I was ready for the future and all to come next.
HottyToddy.com — Speaking of the NFL players, did you have a role model?

Dexter McCluster — Barry Sanders….he loved the game!
HottyToddy.com — If you had to do it all over again, would you return to Oxford and enroll at Ole Miss?
Dexter McCluster — I would return in “a blink of the eye”!
HottyToddy.com — What was the most disappointing loss while at Ole Miss?

Speed and elusiveness are Dexter McCluster’s trademarks.

Dexter McCluster — Without a doubt the Vanderbilt game (in Oxford).
HottyToddy.com—You are now considered an Ole Miss legend. How do you feel about this?
Dexter McCluster — This is “big time”. For a guy from Largo, Florida I love the Rebels and continue to support them.
Dexter continues to demonstrate all the reasons why he was so popular at Ole Miss. People enjoy his company; his personality; and his humbleness. Barry Sanders may be his role model, but as for me….Dexter McCluster is mine!
