Ole Miss Baseball Announces Scrimmage Times

Fresh off its fifth week of scrimmages, the Ole Miss baseball team announced Wednesday it will hold two more open scrimmages to the public on Friday and Saturday. The Rebels will play at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field on Friday at 2:30 p.m. and again Saturday at 12:00 p.m. Admission is free to all open scrimmages.
The Rebels’ pitchers stood out in their last two scrimmages Oct. 17 and Oct. 19 with a number of impressive individual performances.
Of the 11 pitchers who threw at least 2.0 innings, seven logged scoreless outings, including six pitchers who each threw 3.0 scoreless innings.
On Oct. 17, juniors Matt Denny, Sean Johnson, Drake Robison and Jacob Waguespack each threw shutouts, with Denny, Johnson and Waguespack each going 3.0 innings. Denny struck out four, allowing just one hit, while Robison fanned four batters in 2.0 innings of action, also allowing just one hit.
Playing under the lights Oct. 19, junior Christian Trent, sophomore Wyatt Short and freshman Will Stokes each pitched 3.0 scoreless innings. Trent struck out four and allowed just one hit, while Short struck out three and Stokes put down two batters.
