Ole Miss Volleyball’s Aubrey Edie SEC Player of the Week
For the fifth time in the first eight weeks of the season, an Ole Miss Volleyball player was recognized by the league office, as sophomore setter Aubrey Edie of Fayetteville, Arkansas, earned SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Edie finished the weekend with 104 assists to lead the Rebels to a pair of road wins in SEC action. In the Rebels’ first conference win on the road, she tallied 48 assists at Auburn. Edie then recorded 56 assists at Alabama, paving the way for four Ole Miss hitters to post double-digit kills for the day.
This marks the second SEC honor for Edie in her career, as she was named SEC Freshman of the Week last year.
Ole Miss leads the league with five different players earning an SEC weekly award this season. Cara Fisher was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week Sept. 2, Nakeyta Clair earned Offensive Player of the Week Sept. 8, Lexi Thompson was named Freshman of the Week Sept. 22 and Taylor Alexander earned the same honor Oct. 6.
The Rebels host LSU Wednesday at 6 p.m., in a nationally-televised match on the SEC Network.
