Oxford Daily Crime Report for Friday to Sunday, Oct. 10 – 12
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 13 alarms, 11 suspicious activities, seven disturbances, six malicious mischief, six welfare concerns, five noise complaints, four lost properties, two simple assaults, two careless drivers, two improper parking, a shoplifting, a harassment, a motorist assist, an animal assist, a credit card fraud, a fire dept. assist, a counterfeit currency, a false pretense, and a house burglary at 900 S. 18th Ext.
Oxford police investigated 15 wrecks, issued 55 traffic citations, and made 19 arrest on following charges: (2) speeding with DUI, (2) public intoxication, (2) possessions of drug paraphernalia, a discharging of a firearm in the city, a DUI, a domestic violence, a disorderly conduct, a driver without a drivers’ license and car insurance, a careless driver without car insurance and a suspended drivers’ license, a speeding driver without car insurance but with a DUI, a driver without car headlights and a DUI, a driver without headlight but with a minor in possession and a DUI, a careless driver with a DUI, a reckless driver with failure to yield to emergency vehicle and a DUI, a speeding driver with a suspended drivers license and possession of fake ID, a driver with a suspended drivers license and without car insurance and an expired tag.
Oxford police discovered no code enforcement violations.
University police responded to the following incidents: a motor vehicle accident at Ridge North, harassing phone calls at Lester Hall, a fire in Fraternity Alley, a traffic detail on Chucky Mullins Drive, an accidental hit and run at Campus Walk, a public drunk at Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, a possession of drug paraphernalia at Ridge North, an emergency medical service call for an intoxicated person at Kincannon Hall, a possession of drug paraphernalia at Stewart Hall, and a petit larceny at Turner Center.
Oxford Fire Dept. responded to the following calls: an alarm testing at Federal Building, some burned food activated smoke detector at Canterbury Crest 122, a heater turned on activated smoke detector at Holiday Inn Express 219, and a burned pastry in microwave activated smoke detector at Inn at Ole Miss 503.
