Oxford Daily Crime Report for Wednesday, Oct. 8
Joe Exson – Auto Burglary
On Monday, June 9th, 2014, officers responded to Baptist ER in reference to an auto burglary. The victim stated that he was missing a large red toolbox containing misc. tools from the back of his truck. After further investigation, the suspect was identified as Joe Exson (51) of Water Valley, MS. On Monday, October 7th, 2014, Exson was arrested and charged with auto burglary. He was given a bond of $2,500.
Oxford police dept. responded to the following incidents: five suspicious activities, five disturbances, four alarms, two lost properties, a careless driver, a welfare concern, a fire dept. assist, an improper parking, a false pretense, a civil matter, a public intoxication, and a grand larceny.
Oxford police investigated four wrecks, issued 20 traffic citations, and made three arrests on the following charges: possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding with DUI, and running a stop sign with a suspended drivers’ license and no car insurance.
Oxford police discovered no code enforcement violations.
University police responded to the following incidents: a service call about a suspicious person at Isom Hall, a grand larceny more than $500 at Bishop Hall, an accidental hit and run at Meek Hall, a simple assault – domestic violence at Jackson Ave. Center, a harassment at Union, and a larceny at Grove.
Oxford Fire Dept. responded to the following calls: a pressure washer fire that the fire dept. extinguished with a water extinguisher at 1800 E. Jackson Ave., and a child got head stuck between chair cushion and chair arm and the fire dept. pushed the cushion down and got the child’s head out at Super 8 Motel.
