Unique Annual Wine Tasting Event Returns Thursday
When you are shopping for a bottle of wine and lost amongst the rows in the liquor store, have you ever wished you could just open and taste the wine to find one you like? The Yoknapatawpha Arts Council (YAC) and the Rotary Club of Oxford are throwing an event with the opportunity taste countless bottles of wine while supporting a good cause. 3 Blind Wines, the wine tasting with a twist, offers tastings of everything from bold Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon to light Grenache or Zinfandel and much more.
The event brings two hours of tasting wine with an array of hors d’oeuvres. Teams bring bottles of wine that are shared as part of the event. The evening ends as they vote on their favorite wine of the night. If the wine a person brought receives the most votes, they’ll win enough wine to keep them rosy until next year’s event.
Three Blind Wines takes place at the Powerhouse on Thursday, October 9 at 7 pm. Proceeds benefit YAC and the Moak Scholarship Fund with tickets starting at $35 per couple, plus three bottles of wine. In an all-inclusive $100 package option, wine experts will pick the wine for you.

Years ago, when I first started my “small” quest for the “good” wines, I ask the liquor store owner for help. As I knew nothing (and still don’t) about wines, I ask him “what was a good wine” His reply, one that I respect to the day was.”A good wine is one that YOU like.” ’nuff said!
