The Grove: Never Been Busier on a Friday
We Ole Miss students (and recent alumni) remember the joy we had at mere sight of red and blue garbage cans in the Grove Friday mornings. This Friday morning, the Grove welcomed more than the cans: College GameDay stage and determined tailgaters.
The Grove didn’t open until 9 a.m. Friday, but several students (and alumni) clogged the entrance of Walk of Champions until the Paris-Yates Chapel bells rang nine times. Within 30 minutes, the Grove was bustling with chatting tailgaters as they spied the College GameDay people preparing for tomorrow’s airing.
HottyToddy.com reporter Samantha Mitchell is one of eight lucky student volunteers for the College GameDay. She spent this morning helping the Gameday staff set up the cameras.
The Grove may be bustling but some tailgaters stretched out and enjoyed the bright sunny weather in the Grove. A couple even napped.
Some are too excited to sleep, preferring to bellow out Hotty Toddy for all to hear.
Not all Ole Miss fans need to have a tent to be Grove-ready for the Gameday. University of Mississippi alum Oscar Pope has a poster ready to flaunt for the Rebels behind the GameDay folks.
